“Smaller is better”
Did you know that an average household in Africa uses less than 1000 litres of water per day?
An electrical pump running 5 hours a day (for example powered by solar), needs only to provide 1000/5 = 200 L/h or 3.3 Litre/minute!
While the smallest solar pumps on the African markets produce 10 times that, meaning they only work half an hour per day and put unnecessary stress on the well.
Many people have wells that do not provide enough water even for a hand pump, in many cases small solar pumps solve their problem.
Very affordable solar pumps and tube-wells can help achieve SDG 6. Let me know if you want to be a part of this.
