Treatment of water from Auto wash

Published on by in Technology

Can someone tell me about cheapest and fastest way of treating water from Auto-Wash shops, as they add a lot of pollutant to sewage every day. Treating them at source will be a great service to our Rivers.

  1. Oil and grease separation unit with settling chamber would be good to reach some discharge standards to the municipal sewage network system, but this would be enough ? I assume that an advance treatment unit to remove the detergents would be better and a storage unit shall be installed to reuse the treated effluent for the same purpose (auto washing), I believe this will increase the cost of the unit however this will result in lower water bills and more sustainable

  2. Auto wash contains oil & grease, dust & dirt & detergents. The best option will be

Oil & Grease Chamber -> Gravity Settling Tank -> Zero energy Natural Treatment Process.

  3. Hello Sanjav, back in the 90s our Company used to sell compact physical-chemical units to treat  Auto Wash effluents. Later I discovered the difference between Tunnel Washes , Self Serve Car washes and their relevant effluents (and treatments).
