Unfortunately, Matt and Gary suggest "there is no silver bullet," meaning a solution. Providing wells and a connection for people is great, but it will not solve the problem. The world is running out of fresh water - that's the problem. Until we redefine agriculture (consuming 70% of fresh water) the problem continues. It's great for people to help provide access to water and water treatment, but until we change agriculture, we're still going to run out of water.

Hey Andrew...have you heard of film farming? It's supposed to save 90% of water compared to traditional farming. I actually wrote an article about it a couple of weeks ago. You can check it out here www.hydratelife.org/?p=360. Sounds like a great technology that we need to start using around the world ASAP.

Yes, I have. I've explored all the ideas for farming. Vertical farming and urban film farming can be helpful - they're mostly about lettuce and other garden variety vegetables, but crops are 90% of our food supply. Last year in Texas we slaughtered 80,000 cattle and milk cows because they didn't have food. Agriculture needs innovation and automation. I developed a process where we can grow crops at half the cost of traditional methods. The biggest problem with all agriculture is reliability - nobody knows what corn will cost this Summer. That has to end, along with the waste of water. That's what I took on and I found a solution. My work is here: http://www.solutioneur.com I think it's time to end our problems by actually solving them.

There is a coming water crisis throughout the world. 70% of our fresh water is consumed by agriculture and that industry needs to change. We must do everything we can to purify our existing water, but we can save up to 90% of the water wasted in agriculture and avert a global crisis. My work is here: http://www.solutioneur.com

Saw the interview of Matt Damon about the water crisis .This is true that there is acute water crisis in Himalayan region of India along with south India ,Budelkhand and Vindhyan. In the hilly region of Uttarakhand of India in summer a bucket of water is available in Rs.20-30.Villagers bring the water from miles together. In Rajsthan water is being kept in Bouli which is being locked .In some metro cities water is being supplied once for few time with a frequency of two to three days . Now it is high time to save the water for our future generation.

Hi Chaitanya, As now, there is no Bouli in Rajasthan. The government of Rajasthan has arranged water from Himalyan rivers, Narmada, Chambal, Yamuna and by bore wells. The things have dramatically changed. The areas which were not having water earlier, some of them are now water logged. If we wish to save water , we have to save them from rich and influential people of India
