  1. Check out some water filters available in Indian market - which you can fit straight to tap. I guess it helpy removing the taste. Someone in my department had a research paper on this topic, I will get back you soon if I get it.

  2. Chlorine introduced into the water supply reacts with other naturally-occurring elements to form toxins called trihalomethanes (THMs), which eventually make their way into our bodies. THMs have been linked to a wide range of human health maladies ranging from asthma and eczema to bladder cancer and heart disease. Dr. Peter Montague of the Environmental Research Foundation has done a quite a well research on this topic.

  3. Standard practice is to use granulated active carbon whic removes suspended impurities and and chlorine smell through adsorption Most domestic water filters use this process. I am not sure if chlorine adds its own taste to water.

  4. this water is usually treated and chlorine is use to kill microorganism in water but it can also deplete your body of certain vitamins. However chlorine used in water is generally gaseous form, one easy way to reduce chlorine content is to refrigerate the water overnight. The chlorine gas is released and the water tastes better chilled. try it!!!

  5. the taste will be there if the chlorine is used at lower quantity then required. Its like the disinfection process is not yet finished so you can taste the chlorine if it is added in water for treatment . There are some filter to remove chlorine but chlorine is not harmful to health so why bother?
