How to mix corrosion inhibitor by scale dispersant

Published on by in Academic

What is the best way to calculate for preparing a mixture of corrosion inhibitor and scale dispersant for use in cooling tower? Is there a specific standard for it?

  1. Ive seen you have posted multiple queries.
There is a little more clarity needed on the question.

If you want to calculate the dosages, these will be depended on the quality of makeup of water & COC.

If you want to know , a better way to dose, direct dosing in the pumping or basin are practiced generally.

    1. ok tnx. actually i want know if i was have 100 kg corrosion inhibitor and 100 kg scale dispersant، then can i mix them together to get a mix corrosion inhibitor and dispersant for injection by pump in basin? Is this ratio (50%, 50%) correct?

      blow down: 70m3/hrs

      caH: 800ppm

      coc: 2

      make up caH: 400ppm

      evaporation:35m3/hrs

      average ambient temp: 40 celsius

      1. No.
You have to contact the supplier of the Corrosion Inhibitor & Scale Dispersant with these data.
or get data on the composition of these.

Based on these data, you can decide the qty needed to mix.

Also, its better to dose them separately to prevent any interaction of these active substances.

  2. Deze Alireza, for cooling towers of small to average capacities I recommend to stay away from using these chemicals at all and apply a cavitation based technology. For instance Pathema.nl in The Netherlands. They show excellent results. This is a lot more sustainable too.
