How are large sized desalination plants sized? especially keeping in mind plant availability & turn down ratios? How to decided on number of 1st pass & 2 nd pass RO skids in the partial split 2 pass scenario?

Why are you thinking about a second pass in an RO desal plant? Do you need extremely low TDS >>100 mg/L? Two pass was done in some locations when the WHO Guideline for boron was 0.5 mg/L so 1 pass was not sufficient. Now the Guideline is 2.4 mg/L which is easily achievable by 1 pass.
