Anyone know of any firm/research center/NGO that connects applied research to pilot projects in the field?

For applied research I mean activities related more to implementation, management, pilot projects. Something that possibly could link interesting academic researches and real world projects.

Thank you.

alchimia-nova is an Austrian research institute conducting research, with several pilot projects / field demonstrations all over Europe. We work on circular economy topics in industry, food systems, mainly using nature-based solutions (e.g. green walls for municipal water treatment, nutrient recovery and reuse, phytoremediation, air phytofilters, replacement of fossil materials with biocomposites/renewable materials).

I do need a little more information about the nature of the need. I am an emeritus sociologist that did a lot of impact studies in the past, needless to say with a human focus. My website might give you some idea if you would be interested in my services. (www.unisearch.co.za)

  8. Hello Giacomo, there are a number if international and locally based organisations undertaking exactly this, NGO's, government entities as well as private companies.

So it really is up to you on what and how you need to approach the subject, as you can appreciate it is quite diverse.

The Water Research Commission in South Africa may be a useful reference to give you some indication of what is available and how it can be implemented, our WRC is a state owned entity that undertakes a wide range of research on water related matters. Reference http://www.wrc.org.za
