  1. It will depend on the amount of sludge you are talking about. If you want to add value to your sludge the best is to dry it (solar or thermal) and then used as fertilizer or source of energy.

  2. Sludge from human waster processing plants and from water treatment plants are two entirely different processes.  With water treatment in Florida lime stone is used to soften the water.  Once the limestone rock breaks down to a baby powder it is pumped into a pit where it is dried then can be used as clean fill.  Once laid out and dried the material goes back to its solid state giving an almost concrete base.  I have been in the sludge hauling and landfill business in South Florida since 1972.

  3. By adding bio-organic catalyst to the sludge it would make it odourless and usable as compost/soil. ............not all  solutions have to be complicated. The attached image will explain how the technology works in principle. Feel free to ask any more info.

  4. What is the sludge content? Btw, sludge here is the unwanted material which is filtered out . Therefore, why do you want to reuse it ? I'm asking because only with your answer detail, can I think of any way to reuse the sludge. Walter below points to disposal of sludge but you want to reuse it. Please disclose the application.

  5. Yes there is a way to detoxify it and convert it to be usable as a fertilizer, or just safely disposed. We have a specific blend of volcanic sulphate minerals that will detoxify the sludge, and convert it into safe and beneficial.

  6. Biological sludges generated by activated sludge treatment of human wastes may be land applied. Generally this material has limited value as a fertilizer because the nutrient concentrations are low. The sludge may be burned as fuel, but the resulting fuel value is also low. Sludge may also be composted although this process involves a higher processing cost. There are some newer technologies that are able to remove the nitrogen and phosphorus from sludge.

  7. Sludge is of different quality. it varies with what source/s and conditions of a sludge. Some Industrial Plants are re-using their effluent after the Membrane Biological Process as Process Water. Sludge per se after the complete oxidation of organic and inorganic wastes are mostly good source of agricultural protein. But it has to undergo a process otherwise it emits foul odour during decomposition process of organic/inorganic wastes.
